gondolat-jel
gondolat-jel is a periodical for philosophy and
the arts. It was established by students of the szeged university (JATE)
in the eighties. Since 1992, it has been published in its current form.
The periodical attempts to present contemporary philosophy and art by a
thematic selection of significant European and American authors’ texts,
of recent Hungarian essays, and of a series of interviews with artist.
Each issue is arranged around a single topic, eg. writing and the book;
theatre; or virtual reality, with texts discussing it from different perspectives.
The editors’ strategy is to match the opposing point of views – with irony
and playing with the texts in the spirit of ”postmodernism”. The periodical
is complete with dASH virtual gallery: a collection of works of art by
contemporary artists displayed on the Internet. information on the artist
is provided in Hungarian, english, and German language. gondolat-jel was
the first among Hungarian cultural publications to be read on the net.
